Saturday will never get boring when you spent it with Jollibee and so I did. Few days back I got an invite from our head blogger Sir Avel to attend the launching event of Jollibee for "Maaga ang Pasko sa GenSan." the event has 2 parts; the exclusive event in the morning for medias, bloggers, Jollibee staffs and heads, the 2nd part was for the kids in the afternoon sessions with guest artist Julie Anne San Jose. Jollibee mascots were there also to entertain and the event was hosted by DJ Joey C. of M.O.R. for Life and ABS CBN TV personality host Rhyndyll Faye Bartolaba. Here is the official press release given to us by Jollibee and photos below are the happenings during the afternoon sessions with the kids and Jollibee itself.

18th Maaga ang Pasko sa GenSan kicks off at SM City General Santos
Jolly Toy Scout Families unite to spread the tradition of giving

Contnuing it legacy of making Christmas brighter for less fortunate kids, Jollibee is again spreading hope and cheer with 18th Maaga ang Pasko sa GenSan. This year, the country's longest-running toy and book donation drive makes it stop in General Santos City, calling on more Filipino families to join the Jolly Family Toy Scouts and touch the lives of children in need.

In partnership with SM Supermalls, Jollibee held a fun and memorable media launch at the activity area Center at SM City General Santos last Oct. 27, 2012. Those  in attendance include the new batch of partner schools and companies from the region, Jolly Family Toy Scouts, as well as Jollibee executives led by their Operations Director for Mindanao, Grace Mercado.

"There is no better way for families to bond during the Christmas season than by sharing their blessings and bringing joy to those who need it most. Through Maaga ang Pasko, we hope that families in General Santos will also make sharing a part of their Christmas family tradition," said Mercado.

During the event, the 2012 batch of Jolly family Toy Scouts from General Santos were inducted, committing to making the 18th year of the toy and book drive a bigger success. Jollibee's regional business unit of Mindanao led the symbolic hanging commitments on the Maaga ang Pasko Christmas tree and starting off this year's toy and book donations.

A variety of fun games and family-themed booths, plus a special magic show, were also set up at the launch, allowing participants and mall-goers to enjoy the time with their families while contributing to the campaign. all they had to do do was present old or new toys and books in exchange for tickets to join in the fun. This year's campaign doesn't stop their as launch events in four other key cities are slated within October and November, including Metro Manila, Bacolod, Calamba and Tarlac.

Since it started, the Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko sa GenSan campaign has spread the holiday cheer among thousands of children, collecting and distributing 1.8 million toys and books over the years. Last year, there were over 300,000 books and toys collected with the help of 102 partner schools and 63 partner companies. Known collectively as the jolly toy Scouts, these volunteers gave less fortunate children a more memorable Christmas celebration.

Spread Christmas cheer and become a Jolly toy Scout now! Gather your old toys and books, and drop them off in the Maaga ang Pasko boxes in any Jollibee store nationwide.

While in the Media Registration area, they already handed me the loot and other Jollibee stuff exclusively for media/blogger.

These are some of the items I donated.

Here's what inside my loot bag: books, scarf, pin, photos and foods.
