Earth Hour Conducted in the Philippines

Department of Environment and Natural Resources or DENR encouraged every Filipino to take part of yesterday's Earth Hour event. March 23, 2013. This annual celebration organizes by World Wildlife Fund aims to lessen the bad effect against climate change.


To note the first launched of Earth Hour in the country, Philippines has the most number of participants among countries in Asia last 2009. Turning off the lights for an hour starting 8:30 to 9:30pm is indeed already a big help.

Last night in the country, big establishments and other companies took part of the said Earth Hour. All SM supermalls nationwide and other malls like Robinsons did the same thing too. While taking part the Earth Hour, an off light program were conducted. Here in GenSan it was conducted at Freedom Park - Oval Plaza stage, Robinsons Place - GenSan Al Fresco and SM City - GenSan Al Fresco Strip.

DENR Secretary Paje extended his heartfelt gratitude to all Filipinos who joined last night Earth Hour. Again, another successful worldwide event nailed.
