Krispy Kreme's Y2K Birthday Bash in Davao

What would a birthday be without a birthday party? Krispy Kreme, a brand that brings happiness and delight with every bite of its Original Glazed® doughnuts, threw the coolest birthday party to celebrate 85 years of happy and magical moments with the OGs.

On July 23, a special event was held at Krispy Kreme in SM Ecoland Davao. The store was decked out in a Y2K aesthetic, complete with neon lights, party favors, and the signature Krispy Kreme doughnut photo wall as if it had traveled back in time. In true Krispy Kreme fashion, it offers delightful treats and surprises.

The special event was attended by Krispy Kreme Chief Operating Officer Sonny Tiong, Marketing Director Mark Gamboa, and Marketing Manager Ysabel Cruz.

“This year’s birthday celebration is a tribute to our Original Glazed® doughnuts which is the very core of Krispy Kreme. In fashion, we see the younger generation bringing back the Y2K trend but mixing in their own little twist. In the same way, we are adding a new, delicious twist to the classic Krispy Kreme favorites as we usher in the new generation or the New Originals,” says Tiong.

A limited number of guests were permitted to sample Krispy Kreme's brand-new limited edition birthday-themed doughnuts due to strict health regulations. The Chocolate Drip Cake, Krispy Kreme's unique take on the traditional birthday cake, leads the selection. It consists of three chocolate cakes piped with yellow, purple, and blue white chocolate, as well as birthday sprinkles. This is only available until July 31 at all Krispy Kreme spots.

In addition, Krispy Kreme introduced a new birthday flavor for its Minis: Mini Choco Glaze with Birthday Sprinkles. Krispy Kreme also offered guests a taste of its newest beverage, the Mixed Berry Birthday Chiller, to round out the birthday collection. These two items will only be available through August 31.

The Hot Light, which normally operates at specific times of the day, was on for the duration of the event. This means that Krispy Kreme Original Glazed® doughnuts are produced in real-time and in unlimited quantities.

To add sweetness and excitement to the party, Krispy Kreme set up a station where guests could decorate their own doughnuts. Afterward, they took artistic photographs in designated areas.
