Honor X7a: A Mid-Range Smartphone that Doesn't Compromise on Features

5:48 AM

I have been using the HONOR X7a for a week now and I am impressed by its camera features and long battery life. At a reasonable price, it is definitely a great option for anyone who wants a good smartphone without breaking the bank.

The HONOR X7a comes in three colors: Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black. I personally used the Titanium Silver color, and it has a stunning gradient finish that gives the phone a premium and modern look. The gradient finish shifts from light silver to darker tones, then to a playful baby blue color, creating a beautiful and eye-catching effect that catches the light in different ways. The sleek and elegant design of the HONOR X7a Titanium Silver makes it not only a functional phone but also a stylish accessory that complements any ensemble.

The phone has a large 6.74-inch FullView LCD display with a 90.07% screen-to-body ratio that aside from providing a great viewing experience for videos and games, its side-mounted fingerprint sensor is easy to reach and very responsive. There were times when even an accidental slide automatically picked up my fingerprint so quickly – that's how sensitive it is.

Another feature of its display is that the HONOR X7a is TÃœV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified, which means it is easier on the eyes for prolonged use. The phone also has a 90Hz screen refresh rate, making scrolling and swiping feel smoother.

The HONOR X7a is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 processor, which ensures smooth performance even with multiple apps running in the background. I tested the 6GB + 128GB, and it was able to handle my daily tasks without any hiccups. The phone also supports external memory up to 1TB, which is great for those who need more storage space.

As someone who frequently takes pictures, videos, stores files, and requires essential work documents to be readily available at all times, the storage capacity of HONOR X7a is a critical aspect that offers me convenience and ease of access.

The phone's camera setup is impressive, with a 50MP main camera featuring an f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth and macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The photos I took with the phone turned out sharp and detailed, even in low-light conditions. The phone also has a great night mode feature that makes low-light photos look brighter and clearer. The 8MP front-facing camera produced decent selfies, but it wasn't as impressive as the rear camera.

I have taken the phone out to test its camera, and here are some results for your reference:

A snapshot from my daily commute on a public vehicle.

Blurry scenery captured while on a public ride with faster speed.

Dimly lit moment amidst the hustle and bustle of a fast-food chain.

Expansive view through the lens of a wide-angle camera.

Golden hour at a fast-food chain.

These are some videos recorded directly from HONOR X7a without any filters or extra features added during recording, to obtain a raw result.

Battery life is one of the HONOR X7a's biggest strengths. The phone comes with a massive 6000mAh battery that lasted me three full days on moderate use. Even with heavy usage, the phone can still hold more squeeze to last a full day. The 22.5W HONOR SuperCharge feature also quickly charged the phone from 0 to 100% in just over an hour.

In terms of real-world usage, I put the HONOR X7a's battery to the test and I'm pleased with the results. With moderate use, which includes browsing social media and watching videos on platforms like TikTok and YouTube, the battery lasted me a full two days without needing a recharge. I also tested the phone's battery life while streaming movies, watching three full-length films with a runtime of around two hours each, and the phone still had enough juice to last me through the day. It's important to note that during these tests, I had several apps running in the background, which makes the battery life even more impressive. So, the battery life on the HONOR X7a is quite reasonable, and it definitely provides the convenience of not having to worry about running out of battery throughout the day.

The HONOR X7a is a great smartphone for people who want a good phone at a reasonable price of P7,990. Its camera features and long battery life are definitely its standout features, but the phone also has a great display and smooth performance. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-range smartphone that doesn't compromise on features.
